Job Description: 

The User Experience Research Intern will support LearnVest’s research efforts across different parts of the business. They will work with members of the UX Research team to help plan, design, conduct, analyze, and share research. The ideal candidate is one that will be eager to learn about the practice of UX Research and is enthusiastic about helping a company learn from its users. This position will span from 3 - 6 months depending on candidate availability.

Responsibilities:

You want to learn, you want to help others learn, and in doing so help a company and its users move forward into the future. The projects you’ll be supporting will be diverse. It may require taking notes alongside a member of the UX Research team, it may involve looking at data from a survey, it may involve scheduling users to come into our lab. The scope of work will be broad, the methodologies we employ will be varied, so you’ll need to be flexible and comfortable wearing different hats. You’ll be largely supporting other researchers but you shouldn’t be content with just that. You’ll need to be able to take the helm from time to time as well.

Requirements:

  • An obsession with understanding how to make amazing experiences for human beings
  • An undergraduate degree or pursuing an undergraduate degree in HCI, interaction design, psychology, social science, statistics or a related field
  • A fundamental understanding of research principles and experimentation
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a proven ability to collaborate
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office or similar office suite
  • Experience with analyzing spreadsheet data including manipulating data and formulas
  • An ability to take complexity and break it down into manageable pieces
  • A love of a full plate and an ability to move quick to keep up
  • You know the difference between qualitative and quantitative research like the back of your hand
