HOMER is looking for a UI Product Designer to join our growing team! HOMER’s mission is to challenge a one-size-fits-all approach to learning and put individuality at its center.

Your role will be own the product UI strategy and execution for HOMER’s suite of mobile products in the children’s education space.

You will:

• Support the HOMER product roadmap and overarching brand vision by driving product UI design across two children’s reading apps
• Be able to anticipate the UI needs coming out of a larger product strategy and how to apply to design execution
• Interpret the direction of product owners in a holistic way that delivers beyond the initial ask, when appropriate
• Liaise with product UX designers to adapt designs to product wireframes and blueprints
• Collaborate with the Development / Engineering team to ensure product designs are executed to spec and help resolve any implementation issues that may arise
• Demonstrate the ability to design for different audiences within and across multiple products under one brand
• Have a strong point of view and conviction on design best practices informed by brand and industry research, and the ability to defend and sell your work to company stakeholders
• Iterate on on design solutions based on team feedback, research and test results.

You have:

• 4+ years experience in mobile digital UI design, represented in a stellar portfolio  
• UI design experience for children’s media / product or games
• Experience in connecting brand / marketing creative and product visual branding and UI across multiple tech stacks (iOS, Android, web)
• A demonstrated ability to design within a complex and expansive brand architecture and ecosystem with multiple, connected products with consistent branding elements
• Experience in developing, contributing or working within a UI design system
• Background working at companies with strong and connected brand identities
• Experience in working in/contributing to a high-performance culture
• Expert knowledge in the following tools / programs: Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite
• Experience in working in an agile workflow
• Experienced prototyping skills (Invision, Framer, Protypr, Origami, etc.)
   
• We prefer but don’t require:
• Experience in designing for different audiences within and across multiple products under one brand
• Experience in designing purchase flows and conversion funnels
• A bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, UI Design, or a related field
