UX Researcher
About Your Role:
As a User Experience (UX) Design Researcher on Dotdash’s Publishing Platforms team, you will work with product managers, designers and engineers to shape the internal tools our writers and editors use to craft content. This content helps millions of monthly readers answer questions, solve problems, and find inspiration on topics they deeply care about.
About Your Contributions:
- Collaborate with our Sr. UX Researcher to proactively lead user analysis and usability testing efforts and translate research findings, and business requirements into executable solutions
- Partner with a multidisciplinary team contributing your expertise in user research and UX standards
- Interview stakeholders to define what the UX is aiming to achieve and how success is measured for projects
- Carry out on-site, remote, and in-field user research studies, including user interviews, gathering data, creating actionable research plans, recruiting users and analyzing data collection in a qualitative and quantitative manner
- Create user personas, user scenarios and task flows to focus on the behavior and motivations of our users
- Lead solution exploration via brainstorming workshops and whiteboarding
- Share tangible findings and prioritized recommendations on a regular basis ensuring outcomes align to both user and business goals
- Proactively gauge the usability of new and existing products to identify and troubleshoot UX problems and solicit feedback from stakeholders and users to improve our products
- Advocate for user research and user research best practices across the company
About You:
- 3-5 years of experience conducting UX research—employing methods such as journey mapping, participatory design, and usability testing demonstrated by a strong portfolio
- Experience writing and conducting a wide range of user research studies including, but not limited to, user interviews, usability testing and user surveys
- Understand the strengths and weaknesses of various research methods and know when to use them
- Strong problem-solving skills with focus on identifying, defining and solutioning for real user needs
- Ability to distill information from diverse research and reporting in a concise and actionable way
- Comfortable being an outspoken advocate for a customer-centric perspective to the wider organization
- Accept feedback gracefully and is skillful in open collaboration with diverse groups
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment, and handle multiple projects under tight deadlines throughout all parts of the product life cycle, from discovery to launch.
- Deep understanding of contemporary trends in web/app design
-Working knowledge of statistics are a plus
