theSkimm makes it easier to be smarter. We started as two friends on a couch and have since purchased more couches and gotten new friends, er... employees. Skimm HQ works hard but knows when to take breaks and when it's time to update the Spotify playlist. We drink the kool-aid but know we're drinking it. The Design team at theSkimm consists of ambitious, collaborative, and thoughtful designers, who work closely on all things related to theSkimm brand. We feel passionate and excited about designing products that millions of people touch on a daily basis.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

This role is a key member of theSkimm’s design team, working cross-functionally across the company to bring theSkimm’s voice and brand to life. You will work closely with the design, product, cash money, and marketing teams on campaigns and overall brand development.

• Innovate with the design team on evolving our visual language and brand.
• Collaborate with the marketing and growth teams to create unique campaigns that help grow theSkimm’s audience.
• Develop mood boards to push the boundaries of theSkimm's visual language, illustration style, and brand personality.
• Work with the cash money team to create innovative cross-platform sponsorship campaigns seen by millions.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

• 2+ years of graphic design experience
• BFA degree is preferred
• Proficient in Adobe Suite: Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop
• A sound design aesthetic with a solid understanding of typography and composition, and grids.
• An understanding of theSkimm's unique brand aesthetic and mission.
• Driven and motivated mentality, with a collaborative approach.
• Ability to think on your feet and work in a fast-paced environment
