Core Responsibilities (BAU)
  • Compensation Infrastructure: Manage and oversee MongoDB’s global compensation infrastructure, including pay ranges, equity ranges, job architecture, job codes, and all associated documentation. Ensure all systems, processes, and infrastructure remain accurate, up-to-date, and adaptable to organizational needs. Own cash and equity budget management to align allocations with business goals
  • Benchmarking & Competitiveness: Lead external survey management (Radford, Pave, Compa) and negotiate vendor contracts to ensure access to accurate benchmarking data. Manage MongoDB’s annual Total Compensation Competitive Review, ensuring timely and actionable insights on cash and equity compensation relative to market trends
  • Compensation Philosophy Evolution: Evolve MongoDB’s cash and equity compensation strategy by aligning programs to support organizational growth, employee engagement, and competitive positioning. Implement analytics to continuously assess the effectiveness of compensation practices
  • Compensation Committee Support Prep: Partner with the VP of Total Rewards to prepare materials for Compensation Committee meetings, providing actionable insights on equity budgets, trends, and forecasts to guide executive decision-making
  • Global Compensation Compliance: Conduct biannual pay equity analyses and implement remediation as needed, and manage statutory pay increases in countries with government-mandated requirements (e.g., Brazil, Italy). Define and consolidate global compensation compliance processes into Compensation Operations, and ensure adherence to emerging legislation such as Gender Pay Gap Reporting and the EU Pay Directive
Transformation Focus
  • Technology Enhancements: Advance MongoDB’s compensation technology ecosystem by implementing tools and workflows in SuccessFactors, automating manual processes, and creating intuitive self-service portals for stakeholders
  • Analytics Innovation: Develop an Analytics Library to consolidate insights on cash and equity compensation, incorporating predictive analytics to drive employee engagement and retention strategies, while designing and implementing a scalable Data Mart in Google Cloud to support time series analyses for critical roles across MongoDB’s key geographies
  • Compensation Planning Process Evolution: Introduce new technology for enhanced communication (Slack bots, GenAI) and create dashboards that track budget effectiveness. Build added functionality in Total Compensation dashboards for multi-year forecasts that help visualize long-term employee compensation arcs
  • Compensation Roadmap Execution: Continue leading MongoDB’s 3-year roadmap to overhaul compensation technologies with integrated automation and analytics. Plan for future roadmap cycles starting in 2027 to ensure ongoing innovation
Leadership & Team Growth
  • Global Compensation Leadership & Alignment: Co-lead the global compensation function in partnership with our Director, Compensation Partnering, ensuring both teams are fully aligned on philosophy, strategy, and execution. Drive collaboration across Compensation Operations and Partnering to deliver a unified, consistent approach to total rewards that supports MongoDB’s business objectives and culture
  • Team Development & Performance: Lead and mentor a globally distributed team (EMEA/APAC/US timezones) and HR Shared Services support, fostering a high-performing, collaborative culture that balances strong outcomes with team enjoyment
  • AI & Team Structure Optimization: Recommend team structure adjustments as AI capabilities evolve, automating repetitive processes and enabling the team to focus on strategic aspects of compensation operations
  • Strategic Collaboration: Work closely with IT compensation technologists, internal stakeholder groups, Business Partner Leads, and the People Leadership team to align efforts with MongoDB’s broader goals and deliver transformative initiatives
