The Director of Talent Acquisition will lead the development and execution of Group Nine’s recruitment strategy. This includes providing support to all of Group Nine’s brands such as The Dodo, NowThis, Thrillist, and Seeker. He/she/they will define, develop and implement a best-in-class approach to attracting, evaluating and hiring top talent across all Group Nine brands. The ideal candidate is a natural leader with strategic recruiting experience and proven ability to develop strong relationships across the entire organization. He/she/they will thrive in a fast-paced environment, and knows how to translate business needs and priorities into practical recruiting plans and processes, ensuring that the right people are being hired at the right time.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert guidance, facilitation and collaboration for all senior leaders and hiring managers to recruit, identify, select, onboard, and retain highly skilled best in class candidates
  • Manage and lead employer branding initiatives
  • Provide leadership, training, coaching, and guidance to talent acquisition team and hiring managers on interviewing best practices, offer recommendations, negotiating/creating job offers, closing, and administrative functions involved in full cycle recruiting
  • Partner with hiring managers and senior leaders in a pro-active way that manages hiring expectations, and ensure high quality candidates remain engaged throughout the entire selection process
  • Ensure reporting objectives are met and data is transformed into useful business intelligence
  • Manage team metrics and performance, ensuring each team member's personal growth and career development
  • Lead, assess and manage team workloads to ensure consistent distribution of requisitions and rebalancing of work as necessary
  • Design, implement and maintain the appropriate processes, tools, systems and training necessary to scale and support the recruiting function
  • Introduce innovate hiring methodologies through identifying unique and non-traditional sources for finding candidates
  • Design, implement and measure sourcing strategies that support the execution of the employment brand and drive high volume, targeted and diverse candidate pipelines
  • Lead end to end recruitment processes for strategic and executive positions
  • Assist human resources and senior leadership with headcount and succession planning strategies
  • Manage, grow and develop the Talent Acquisition team

Qualifications: 

  • Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or similar field, and 8+ years’ experience recruiting best in class talent
  • Must have 5+ years of previous experience leading a recruiting team
  • Possess strong executive presence with demonstrated ability to develop positive relationship and success in influencing leaders across the company at all levels
  • Strategic thinker with hands-on style to deliver practical and effective solutions
  • Well organized and comfortable with prioritizing and managing multiple priorities and tasks
  • Experience creating and implementing projects and processes from inception to completion
  • Possess sense of urgency, can do attitude with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Strong metrics orientation with a track record of driving performance and evaluating the ROI of talent acquisition plans
  • Proven track record with developing creative recruiting strategies that drive overall business effectiveness
  • Experience strategically sourcing candidates from a variety of sources; managing/driving the full life cycle recruitment process, conducting compensation analysis at the onset of the recruitment process and managing negotiations and closing at the offer stage
  • High proficiency in Microsoft office suite
  • Proficiency with web-based recruitment tool(s); experience with Greenhouse preferred
