As Director of User Experience Research, you will work directly with the UX Design team as well as other disciplines to develop actionable insights that help drive design decisions. You will be responsible for managing a team of UX researchers responsible for doing research ranging from early foundational phases through to usability testing and ensuring that we deliver on our promise of simple and amazing user experiences.

 The Responsibilities

• Provide direction and set process of multiple projects and define how the work intersects with the rest of the design team and other cross-disciplinary groups
• Manage and mentor a team of UX Researchers to coordinate and conduct research to be distilled into simple, meaningful, and digestible insights that drive design decisions leading to amazing experiences
• Develop growth and career development plans for UX Researchers
• Present thoughtful research plans and timelines for projects based on your deep knowledge of research methodologies and when to use them
• Conduct research when needed
• Work with the Data team to combine qualitative and quantitative results
• Facilitate workshops with cross functional team members that turn insights into action
• Teach methods of good brainstorming techniques and facilitation that can impact the entire organization
• Present and share planning, roadmaps, and findings to senior leadership through effective storytelling and communication
• Inspire a team to strive for clear, concise results that are presented effectively and communicate insights efficiently to the entire company
• Own research documentation processes and tools for effectively organizing and sharing research proposals, artifacts, moderator guides, interview transcripts, videos, photographs, etc.

The Qualifications

• 6+ years industry experience or appropriate education
• BS, MS, or PhD in Human Computer Interaction, Human Factors, Sociology, Psychology, Anthropology, Information Science, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
• Deeply curious, empathetic, and passionate about uncovering user insights
• Experience deriving insights using quantitative and qualitative methods
• An excellent storyteller - you can inspire people with human-centered rationale
• Motivated self starter who is comfortable navigating ambiguity
