The Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Team at Harry’s Inc. works cross-functionally in a global role to develop and deploy innovative high-volume manufacturing solutions in the consumer products market. The team is focused on delivering and scaling manufacturing solutions that advance both the Harry’s direct-to-consumer and store brand businesses in Europe and North America.
About the role
The Advanced Manufacturing Engineer assumes a high level of responsibility supporting manufacturing programs and NPI initiatives. This engineer will collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, supply chain, and quality engineering to develop manufacturing processes and custom equipment that will bring Harry’s next generation products into mass production. Additionally, this role will support existing manufacturing by developing specifications for new equipment to help scale the business globally. Successful candidates can learn fast and work independently. They can work in a cross-functional environment with a global presence developing new manufacturing processes and machinery in line with the needs of the business.
What you will accomplish
- Work on cross-functional teams to develop, evaluate, start-up and optimize high volume production equipment.
- Develop manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; research, design, test, and modify manufacturing methods and equipment; confer and partner with external suppliers.
- Collaborate with the R&D team on NPI programs to create products and help optimize for manufacturability.
- Assist leadership teams with capacity expansion plans and initiatives.
- Work with the international & domestic manufacturing teams to provide support for new production processes and equipment.
- Test and evaluate products using standard and industry-specific instrumentation.

- Be an interactive member of technical cross-functional teams by providing technical knowledge, innovation, and teamwork.
- Work effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Contribute to projects when assigned as a member of the project team.

This should describe you
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (2+ yrs. of experience)
- Experience and ability working around complex and sensitive manufacturing equipment and instrumentation
- Experience defining manufacturing processes and specifications for custom equipment
- Experience with a wide array of manufacturing and metrology methodologies
- Experience with basic CAD and/or programming skills
- Ability to complete work assignments from written documentation and/or prints, as well as verbal instructions
- Ability to read and work from technical drawings and instructions
- Ability to translate synthesized data into manufacturing processes that will yield desired results in a mass production environment
- Capable of developing equipment to deliver new products from our R&D pipeline
- Capable of scaling existing manufacturing processes with newer and improved machinery
- Capable of extracting engineering data from various sources and processing and presenting in clear communications
- Interacts successfully with engineers, scientists, and production workers in factory settings across the globe
- Approaches work with a focus on the important details
- Communicates effectively with all levels of coworkers and collaborators
Here's who you'll work with
- Advanced Manufacturing Engineering reporting to the Sr. Advanced Manufacturing Engineer
- Partner internally with R&D, Program Managers, Marketing, Global Brand Development, and Product Development.
- Partner externally with machine vendors, contract manufacturers, and contractors.
Work Environment:
- Travel requirements include domestic and overseas trips to support machine design, acceptance testing, and validation (up to 25-50%, project dependent)
- Work schedule will vary around core business hours of 8 to 5, but will include off hour calls with other time zones and will include weekends and holidays as needed.
