ABOUT THE ROLE

Galileo is looking for a seasoned Android Engineer to join our product engineering teams. In this role you will uplevel and expand our patient-facing app which enables a broad population of patients to receive high-quality primary care from our clinicians. We are looking for engineers who like to solve new problems and who put user needs at the forefront of their work.

Here's what you’ll do:

• Collaborate closely with designers, clinicians, and other engineers to create beautiful patient experiences
• Own feature development through ideation, design, implementation, and rollout
• Inform the technical and architectural direction of the application and implement improvements as we scale
• Learn and implement new technologies to increase the quality and velocity of our development process
• Define and maintain processes to ensure the quality of our products
• Learn about and contribute to other areas of the stack if you are interested!
• Mentor developers on best practices for building Android applications

ABOUT YOU

You are an experienced Android Developer with knowledge of the full stack and professional experience working with teams cross-functionally.

We'd love to hear from you if you have the following:

• Significant experience in shipping and iterating on one or more complex Android application, ideally currently available on the Google Play store
• A strong foundation in software engineering and experience with web services
• A keen interest in sound UI/UX; ability to empathize with users and advocate on their behalf in the design process
• Desire to collaborate outside of mobile engineering to increase the quality and velocity of our software development process
• Clear communication around technical concepts and ideas and the ability to collaborate with engineering and cross-functionally
• Experience writing and maintaining unit tests, snapshot tests, and/or integration tests

Bonus points if you also have:

• Familiarity with Kotlin, RxJava, MVI architecture
