nTopology is hiring for an Application Engineer. The Application Engineering role is a versatile position where you’ll play a critical role in the company’s success and promotion of its products. A key responsibility of this role is to conduct software demonstrations with prospective customers, current users, and partners to ensure they understand the value nTop brings to their organization. In addition to that, you’ll investigate customer applications, workflows, problems, and engineering goals, and in a timely manner deliver nTopology solutions.


This role reports to the Director of Application Engineering.

What You'll Do

  • Relaying “voice of the customer” data, solutions, and problems to the nTopology product team
  • Provide the nTopology sales and marketing teams relevant customer engagement collateral, as well as technical and practical guidance on the adoption and deployment of nTopology products
  • Benchmark and demonstrate nTopology value as part of the technical sales process
  • Develop demonstration parts and workflows to illustrate the value of nTopology products to customers
  • Work with the nTopology team to further improve products, to identify new application areas based on customer interactions, and to develop accurate and compelling messaging regarding nTopology value to prospects
  • Assist the training and customer success teams as needed
  • Serve as the technical point of contact on customer accounts

Who You Are

  • Excellent spoken and written English in addition to one other local, European language
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar
  • At least 2 years of relevant, industry experience
  • Proficiency with 3D CAD software (at least one of: Solidworks, PTC Creo, Siemens NX, Catia, etc.)
  • Experience with FEA and/or CFD (at least one of: Abaqus, ANSYS, Fluent, Nastran, LS-Dyna, etc.), and demonstrated knowledge of mechanical analysis and linear statics
  • Practical knowledge of various manufacturing processes, including additive manufacturing, and mechanical engineering practices
  • Willingness and availability to travel to conferences, events, and customer sites (up to 50%), assuming there are no corporate or local restrictions due to COVID-19

It's a Plus If You Also Have

  • Excellent spoken and written German or French
  • Industry-specific experience in one or more of: aerospace, automotive, defense, medical, industrial design, heavy industry/manufacturing
  • Master’s degree in a highly relevant or related field of study is a plus
  • Experience with PLM tools a plus
  • Engineering skills: design for manufacturing, hands-on additive manufacturing experience and/or CNC-programming, CAM, design of experiments, structural/thermal/fluid analysis
  • Software skills a plus (Python or C++, Git, Visual Studio, Zendesk).Experience with technical sales using Salesforce or a similar CRM application is a plus
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite
  • Strong organization, project management, and problem-solving skills with impeccable multi-tasking abilities
  • Experience with publishing and content generation (video, print, 3D modeling or animation tools, etc.). Adobe Creative Suite a plus
  • Experience in conference presentations, training workshops, and other public speaking engagements.
