Job Description

Join Memorial Sloane Kettering Cancer Centers’ fast paced and growing Hybrid Cloud Team as we build a new platform that serves as one of the core foundations for MSKCC's Digital Transformation Program. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to own contributions to our growing platform that is built on top of public cloud providers such as AWS and Azure. We seek to provide an ecosystem that empowers our organization’s development community and supports our various vendor solutions. We are looking for passionate experienced engineers with relevant skills to be part of this cloud platform team. 

You Are:

You Will: 

• Design, engineer and deliver hybrid cloud platform features and infrastructure features at a regular cadence on which other cloud development teams will construct cloud applications! 

• Implement services and frameworks to run our hybrid cloud environment using infrastructure-as-code technologies such as AWS CloudFormation, Azure ARM Templates and Terraform. 
• Share ownership of the team’s various codebases, architecture, offerings, tools and advocate for high-quality to ensure optimal development velocity and extensibility. 
• Collaborate with other hybrid cloud team members, external vendors, and internal MSK teams to design and develop solutions, as well as discover new opportunities to improve our platform. 
• Be an escalation point for cloud-based infrastructure support issues and responsible for seeing these issues through to resolution. 
• Provide expert guidance on standards for design, good practices, engineering changes, cost optimization and configuration management across AWS or Azure cloud. 

You Have: 

• Proficiency in at least one infrastructure-as-code technology and preferable one programming language (e.g., Java, .NET, Golang, JavaScript, etc.). 
• Experience with designing reliable and scalable solutions on AWS or Azure, including multi-AZ and multi-region deployments, auto-scaling features and HA/DR solutions. 
• Deep understanding of cloud offerings in AWS and/or Azure in areas related to networking, security, DevOps, operations, monitoring, alerting, storage, databases and compute. 
• Developed CI/CD pipelines for release cycle management using tools such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Travis CI, etc. 
• Experience working with Git, as well as Git-related tools such as GitHub or Azure DevOps. 
• Experience working with at least one scripting language such as Python, PowerShell or bash. 
• Strong technical writing and oral communication skills.  
• Familiarity with integrating AWS and/or Azure cloud with third party software, other SaaS services and/or on-premise applications. 

• Experience in architecting highly available, scalable and reliable solutions on AWS or Azure cloud infrastructure. 
• Experience working in Agile environments; familiarity with the SAFe Agile framework is a plus. 

• Worked with project management tools, such as JIRA or Rally. 
• AWS and/or Azure certifications are a plus.
