nTopology is looking for a Back-End Engineer to join our Cloud team. We need a software engineer who has proven their ability to think strategically, back decisions with research, pay close attention to detail, implement solutions with speed, and communicate effectively.

This role reports to Lead Software Engineer, Cloud.

Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain web applications and APIs that customers and employees use
• Collaborate with UX designers and engineers across the company to build new features and support business initiatives
• Work with technologies and frameworks such as Python, Flask, RESTful APIs, CI /CD pipelines and more
• Optimize our web applications for maximum speed
• Be involved in code reviews, as both a participant and reviewer
• Perform incidents analyses and processing
• Make suggestions for better solutions to problems
• Keep abreast of latest and emerging technologies
• Develop features and create fulfilling user experiences following best practices

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or relevant field
• 2+ years Python experience writing maintainable, reusable code
• 2+ years experience with database design and maintenance (PostgreSQL)
• Experience with building large scale applications
• Excellent analytical and multitasking skills
• In-depth understanding of the entire web development process (design, development, and deployment)

Preferred:

• Experience with Flask Framework
• Experience with Docker and CI/CD tools
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform
• Experience with JavaScript, React JS
• Experience with Agile, Test-Driven Development methodologies
• Experience with Git workflow, including pull requests, code reviews
