We're looking for a Backend Engineer to be a founding member of the Sneaker Con Digital tech team. 

In this role, you will be responsible for architecting and building core services to be used by both our iOS and web platforms. You will be considered the engineering owner of all digital projects and will be given autonomy to design features and implement as you see fit. 

As one of the first full-time members of our engineering team, you will also be given the opportunity to establish key engineering processes and build the foundation for a strong engineering culture.

Responsibilities:

• Share ownership of a high-traffic consumer facing web application.
• Design and architect backend solutions to address business problems.
• Review code and mentor other engineers, including pair programming and presenting show and tells.
• Partner with product, design and QA to deliver MVP-scoped features and validate its impact.
• Implement effective engineering processes and policies that emphasize quality and forward progress.
• Build robust and scalable software in C++, Ruby, Scala and/or Java
• Help improve our code quality through writing unit tests, automation and performing code reviews.

Requirements:

• BA degree or 5+ years of professional programming experience
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience with Java or similar languages
• Experience building or operations large scale AWS services and managing multiple development environments
• Experience writing and maintaining unit, integration and end to end tests
• Establish Back-End software engineer best practices.

• Experience deploying machine learning models is a plus
