OpenFin helps bring the finance industry into the modern world by providing tools for rapidly and safely running web-based applications on the desktop. We are looking for dynamic C++ Engineers to join our growing team!

As a C++ Engineer you will:

  • Build upon our Chromium-based platform.
  • Enrich APIs that interface with Node.js.
  • Debug the core.
  • Support both internal builds and customer product needs
  • Join a vibrant dynamic work environment, where everyone has the opportunity to influence the direction of our technology.

We’re looking for colleagues with:

  • Experience with C++ and STL
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical abilities
  • Individual initiative to move projects to completion
  • Understanding of Data Structures and algorithms
  • Understanding of Object-Oriented design patterns and concepts
  • Experience with IPC and Multi-Threading
  • Basic familiarity of JavaScript, TypeScript, and Node.js

Bonus points if you have experience in:

  • Distributed Systems / Message-driven architectures
  • Electron
  • Chromium
  • Native Node.js modules
  • Windows API
  • Cross-Platform development

Location

Our NYC headquarters can be found in the heart of the financial district. We have a fantastic office space located on the 35th floor, with amazing city views and a private balcony that is often used for gatherings. We also offer a fully stocked kitchen that includes unlimited coffee and beer on tap!

What are some social events your company does?

We hold weekly Zoom happy hours (which we'll hold in person when we're able), Daily "Small Hands" (15 mins where individuals across the company present on topics of interest), a yearly offsite, and regular team outings / dinners.

What projects are you most excited about?

Prior to OpenFin, I worked at a big financial company for many years. OpenFin provides a totally different experience; I can see the product life cycle as a full picture. I love to see how issues I solve directly help our customers.

We've developed the OpenFin Incubator -- a rotating group of engineers from different teams that spend 2 week sprints specifically assigned to solving some of our most challenging business problems.

We are solving very interesting technical problems and you’d be really hard pressed to find another company our size that is dealing with those problems. As a person who enjoys working on and solving technical problems, we’re put in positions where we have to solve something that no one in the world is solving. We constantly experiment and learn.
