Are you a developer looking to use your technical skills and experience to solve broader business challenges? Well, we are looking for you! We are seeking a mid-level software developer who would like to help us build the future of our publishing business through the development and maintenance of our core publishing platform while helping us expand beyond the traditional publishing model.

You will be working on the development and maintenance of our proprietary CMS, templates, new line of business features and more. You’ll have a hand in making sure our ad stack and data pipelines are up and running properly. You will also be a part of helping us build for the future of Bauer Xcel. We have our eyes on exciting new launches and you will be a part of that, from ideation to execution. We’re a small team, and we need all hands on deck!

With that, experience in a specific tech stack isn’t the only thing that matters to us - we’re also interested in people who love to collaborate, get excited about new, big ideas, and understands that agile is a mindset not a fixed process.

About You

• You are familiar with test driven development and wouldn’t work any other way.
• You are happy to pair with others.
• You are familiar with agile and how to use it to best serve a team. You enjoy finding bottlenecks in the process and helping teams work faster.
• You enjoy mentoring and teaching others.
• You enjoy writing clean, idiomatic, robust, and readable code.
• You are happy working in the backend as well as the frontend.
• You have 3 - 5 years experience working as a developer.
• You are happy working in the following tech stack - experience with our tech stack is not a requirement but is nice to have, as long as you are willing to learn:
• Ruby on Rails
• Javascript, React, & Node
• Postgres
• Elasticsearch
