This role will work collaboratively with all participants in software development lifecycle including Product Managers,product owners, project managers, Developers, DevOps engineers, client support staff as well as client staff.. You will own the Release Management lifecycle which includes scheduling, coordinating and the management of releases across all areas of the Zipari products and software stack. Additionally, you will be responsible for implementing and managing release processes for code through development, test, UAT, Staging and Production Environments. You will also work with Product, Development and DevOps stakeholders to improve the software engineering process and practices associated with continuous build, deploy and updating software and environments

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Interface with the Zipari internal teams across all functions to engage in release management activities
  • Implement and improve the release management process
  • Conduct Release Readiness reviews, Milestones reviews and Release Go/No-Go reviews
  • Lead and co-ordinate go-live activities including execution of deployment plans and checklists
  • Participate in cross-function Change Governance Board(CGB) meetings to align release scope, status, interdependencies and/or roadblocks Release Planning
  • Maintain and publish a release calendar
  • Understanding of release pipeline and potential environment limitations
  • Deployment planning and strategy
  • Manage risks and resolves issues that affect release scope, schedule and quality
  • Manage relationships and coordinate work between different teams at different locations
  • Produce deployment playbooks and implementation plans
  • Negotiate, plan and manage all release activities
  • Evaluate release risk and develop mitigation strategy with partner teams
  • Governance of deployments in lower environments
  • Continually work towards making improvements in the release process
  • Partner with DevOps resources to identify and implement automation opportunities in the deploy process
  • Post release evaluation and operational improvement identification
  • Weekly release reporting and release note coordination with Product and Engineering
  • Maintain a release repository and manage key information such as build and release procedures, dependencies, and notification lists
  • Maintain and report release metrics
  • On-call support during the production release process
  • Provide occasional after-hours support to troubleshoot issues or execute deployment of code to production or between various environments

Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree required
  • Prior release management experience
  • Understanding of ITIL framework or other release frameworks and processes
  • Agile SDLC methodology knowledge for SaaS product development
  • Ability to lead technical projects
  • Experience with release management tools and modern communication mechanisms
  • Ability to develop necessary documentation for external support organizations
  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot problems in a methodical fashion
  • Must have excellent organizational and communications skills
