The Role

DevOps Engineers scale on our Release Engineering and Customer Enablement team scales our infrastructure and tooling to ensure we deliver high quality, innovative traffic management services to our customers. DevOps Engineers work magic by fusing together operational discipline with a deep understanding of systems, networks, automation, and scaling. DevOps Engineers amplify developers by working closely together to ship observable applications. 

Your Skills:

• Strong operational knowledge of networking, distributed systems and security
• Proficiency with Linux
• Operating and building containerized applications using Docker
• Proficient in scripting languages
• Hands on experience with configuration management tools and infrastructure as code
• Ability to collaborate with developers to design modern internet infrastructure for operability, including metrics, logging, observability, automation, etc.
• Expertise in troubleshooting and performance tuning of complex, high-traffic, distributed applications
• Experience with major cloud providers
• Troubleshooting, bug scoping and good problem solving skills
• Performance and scalability testing

Nice to have:

Experience with

• Any QA experience
• Automated build systems such as Jenkins
• The Domain Name System, DNS tools and protocol
• Cloud experience, e.g., Amazon Web Services, Digital Ocean, Vultr, Packet, etc.
• Code versioning, e.g., Git/Github.
• Metrics/logs, e.g., Elasticsearch, Logstash, Grafana, Kibana, Telegraf
• Container Orchestration: Kubernetes, Nomad, Calico, Envoy, Etcd, etc.
• Hashicorp tools (terraform, vault, consul, etc.)
• Traffic load balancing, filtering, and DDoS mitigation tools
• Postgres and operating it in multiple environments and/or regions
• Linux kernel tuning, user-space networking
