Spruce is looking for an experienced DevSecOps Engineer to join its growing Information Security team. The ideal candidate will have an interest in security and cloud technologies and will thrive in a fast-paced startup environment.


As a part of the Information Security team, reporting to the Head of Information Security, you will help build the state of the art Information Security program. Your ability to identify and help remediate tactical security concerns at the same time always keeping the strategic goals in mind and molding the organization towards that will help drive excellence in the security posture of the organization.

What you'll do

  • Execute cloud security architectures
  • Perform cloud DevSecOps functions
  • Identify, recommend, and rollout cloud security technologies using best practices
  • Implement security in CI/CD pipeline
  • Update CircleCI scripts
  • Configure network security
  • Ensure data protection
  • Perform Identity and Access Management (IAM) in cloud environment
  • Ensure cloud security compliance

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's Degree in one of the following: Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems Management. Exemplary work experience in Cybersecurity, Engineering or DevOps also considered
  • Successful experience in a startup environment
  • Certification in Information Security (CISSP, CISM, CCSP) or Google Cloud (Google Cloud Security Engineer, Google Cloud DevOps Engineer).
  • Significant knowledge of Google Cloud security
  • Good understanding of VPC, NAT, DNS, load balancers, Google Kubernetes Engine, Docker containers, VM security, Firewall, Key Management, Cloud IAM, Certificates and Cloud Armor
  • Experience with cloud networking
  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills: constantly monitor systems to identify threats and vulnerabilities, execute security architectures, and ensure there are no external threats
  • Familiarity with security standards such as NIST, CIS Top 20, NYDFS regulatory requirements, ALTA Security Best practices.
  • Ability to explain complex security topics and concepts in simple language
  • Situationally appropriate sense of urgency
  • Motivated by curiosity and eager to learn our business. Perceived by others to be a resource and a trusted advisor.
  • Strong documentation skills
