We are looking for a leader to mature and grow the DevOps function at Zipari. This person will bring a solid understanding of cloud architecture and deployments to help guide our vision and strategy for production operations. They will have a deep first-hand understanding of DevOps, including production support, CI/CD, and cloud service delivery providing a balance between Development and Operations. The right candidate will be hands on and provide leadership.

What You'll Be Doing

• Work with business and engineering leaders to create and implement processes that accelerate the delivery of new features and products with high quality and at scale.
• Establish a culture of high performance, transparency and continuous improvement as it relates to the infrastructure services.
• Lead a diverse team of three to five experienced and talented engineers, providing guidance, support and clear priorities.
• Constantly seek opportunities to mature existing processes by introducing automation, tools, or infrastructure to scale the business.
• Support the development of the organization’s continuous integration/continuous deployment pipeline.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Product teams to deliver and maintain a high level of availability.
• Design, implement, and maintain the monitoring and metrics systems, providing business stakeholders with system performance and operational feedback.
• Work closely with leadership and security architects to provide input into the design and implementation of the security infrastructure for Zipari’s cloud hosting environment.
• Have a good understanding of different deployment architectures and are able to advise and decide on the best option to cover self-healing, auto-scaling, and self-documenting systems.

Requirements

• Experience managing a team, including hiring, retaining, managing performance and developing the skill set of direct reports
• Experience successfully collaborating with engineering teams
• Experience working with cloud technology – ideally AWS and Linux. One or more AWS certifications is highly desirable.
• Experience working in an agile software development organization implementing and supporting development teams using CI/CD pipelines
• Excellent communication and problem solving skills
• The ability to use code to create automation and a working knowledge of our development tools, which include Jenkins, Jira, Gitlab, Ansible, Terraform, CloudFormation, Sumologic, ELK stack, Sensu (but not necessarily all) are required
• Knowledge of container orchestration, ideally using Kubernetes, is highly desirable
• The ability to understand situations or problems by organizing information in a logical way. This includes anticipating problems for root causes and alternative solutions.
• Practical application principles of zero-downtime deployment through fully automated CI/CD
• Hands on experience with Docker and Docker deployment and frameworks (Docker deployment in AWS ECS is a nice to have)
• Ability to communicate and work with all levels and departments in the organization
• Have an understanding of web development technologies including, PostgreSQL, HTML, CSS, Javascript, Angular is a plus
• Working knowledge of two or more programming languages
