Position Overview

Catalyst is seeking an experienced and dynamic engineering leader to join us in building the future of Customer Success.  As a Director of Engineering, you will play a key part in scaling our engineering team organizationally and technologically. You will be responsible for leading the engineers building our application’s onboarding flow, integrations hub and data ingestion pipelines.  We are looking for a leader that gets as excited digging into product adoption metrics as you do designing data intensive systems and is deeply passionate about building a culture that fosters a high performance engineering organization.


What You’ll Do 

  • Coach software developers and engineering managers to help them realize their potential
  • Work closely with the Product team to ensure tight alignment on strategy and roadmap. Lead teams to prioritize their work towards maximizing value for users and building for scale and speed.
  • Strategically grow your engineering organization to stay ahead of business needs.
  • Drive consistent execution. Possess a passion for building and shipping great products. 
  • Participate in delivering and receiving transparent feedback across all interacting layers of the organization
  • Cultivate an engineering culture that aligns with Catalyst’s core values and supports space for innovation and engineering excellence.
  • Bring new ideas to scale the engineering organization as a part of the senior engineering leadership group.
  • Communicate technical and product decisions across the business, resolve blocking issues, and identify opportunities for improvement.


What You’ll Need

  • 4+ years of experience managing engineering managers and software development teams. 
  • 7+ years of experience in software development, preferably in a fast-paced startup environment. 
  • Proven track record of mentoring and developing the careers of software engineers and engineering managers
  • Demonstrated success hiring and scaling diverse and inclusive teams to meet evolving business needs. 
  • Passion for inspiring and supporting teams to uplevel their work quarter after quarter
  • Strong communication skills (written & verbal) and an understanding of how to lead by setting context
  • A deep understanding and point of view on Engineering Process to enable teams to do their best work
  • History of strong partnerships with product and business teams as well as deep customer empathy. 
  • Knowledge of industry trends in tools and technologies. You can guide your team to make good architecture decisions that will set them up for success
  • Curiosity and business acumen, and an ability to learn and take on new opportunities
