We are looking for an Engineering Director to lead our Growth organization. In this role, you will lead multiple teams that build and manage applications and services to serve as companions to help our customers get started with their online presence and grow their business on our platform.

Your team will help Squarespace improve customer success in touring our platform from our 'front door' on squarespace.com, and in helping our customers to determine when to use our self service tools and when to use an expert from our Marketplace to get started on the platform.

You will educate customers on multiple aspects of our platform, including paths to creating a great online store and valuable analytics on how their sites and stores are performing.

You will use experimentation and heavy A/B testing to determine viability and value of new features, layouts and personalization.

You'll partner widely inside our company, with Product Engineering, Product Managers, Product Design and Product Analytics and will report to the Engineering leader of our Presence organization. You'll Get To…

• Build the Growth technical strategy, and develop a multi-year plan which incorporates Engineering, Product and Design needs
• Recruit and develop a diverse team of frontend, backend and full stack engineers, both in office and remote
• Partner with our Engineering Platform organization to build reusable components to accelerate delivery of customer value
• Partner with our Websites and Commerce groups
• Balance a mixture of heavy experimentation, creative production and sound engineering principles

Who We're Looking For

• 8+ years as an Engineering leader
• You will have led people managers, team leads and engineers
• You'll have experience managing a team of 20+ engineers across multiple teams
• Experience leading teams of creative developers
• Experience successfully recruiting for frontend and backend software engineers
• Experience leading teams without traditional roadmaps
• Knowledge with experimentation platforms
