TITLE: Electrical Hardware Engineer
HOURS: Full-time
LOCATION: Brooklyn, New York (BioLite is currently in an all-remote capacity due to COVID-19.)
REPORTS TO: Principal Engineer
COMPENSATION: Salary is comparable to other early-stage companies, and includes benefits like fully covered healthcare, company bonus plan, and equity stock options.

YOU WILL:
As an electrical engineer at BioLite, you'll develop robust, creative, cost-effective hardware designs that will bring new energy products to life, and be used and relied upon by hundreds of thousands of off-grid customers around the world. Main responsibilities include:
Hardware Design:
design, prototype, test and document electrical hardware for BioLite's energy products. Functionality will include DC-DC power conversion, analog design for sensing and control, embedded microcontrollers, user interfaces, and various communication interfaces.
Design for Manufacture:
- Steer designs into high-volume production in collaboration with manufacturing and operations teams, and manufacturing partners.
- Provide production-ready artwork and bills-of-materials, and support programming, calibration and QA needs.
- Support updates and sustaining work as needed through product life-cycles.
YOU HAVE:
- At least 2 years' experience developing consumer electronics hardware, or similar experience.
- Proficiency with an ECAD platform such as Altium, Eagle, KiCad, etc.
- BONUS: familiarity with power electronics design and DC-DC conversion.
- BONUS: familiarity with scripting or data analysis in Python or similar.
- BONUS: familiarity with firmware development in C for embedded microcontrollers, or similar.
