About the team

Angi is looking for an Endpoint Engineer to join our fast-growing team. The role of the Endpoint Engineer is to design, build and implement endpoint configurations including Windows and MacOS and user applications across both virtual and physical desktop environments. In addition, the Endpoint Engineer works closely with Desktop Support to provide tier three technical support and serves as an escalation point. The individual in this position is responsible for ensuring that all desktop OS and applications are secure, reliable, patched and highly available.

Successful Endpoint Engineers should have good communication and collaboration skills, excellent analytical, problem-solving, and time-management skills, and enjoy iterative work and experimentation.

What you’ll do

  • Perform implementation, administration, configuration, troubleshooting and maintenance within Windows OS and SCCM environments and the MacOS  and Jamf environments.
  • Windows desktop OS, and Mac image creations, customization of features and deployment across enterprise.
  • Create software packages via various methods including packaging for automated deployments.
  • Leveraging automation to replace manual administration tasks. On Windows, this includes PowerShell, SCCM and GPOs. On Macs, this includes Jamf and shell scripting.
  • Meet endpoint support and service delivery objectives through the design, development and delivery of custom solutions related to automation, monitoring and application performance optimization.
  • Oversee the deployment of security patches for operating system and desktop applications.
  • Provide tier three support across the enterprise for issues related to the desktop OS and applications. Ensure all requests and operational problems are updated/resolved within a timely manner.
  • Maintain standardized system configurations across operating environments utilizing configuration management framework and automation.
  • Be the primary owner for the tools used to manage asset inventory, and work with logistics and desktop teams to make enhancements as needed.
  • Evaluate new products/services and provide effective solutions to meet the company’s needs.
  • Ability to identify and evaluate desktop OS and application solutions that enhance the security of the desktop environment, while balancing overall user experience and ease of use.
  • Familiarity with modern MDM tooling, and capable to help design and implement a transition plan from an on-premise environment to a cloud solution.
  • Documenting all reported problems and actions taken in response.
  • Participate and provide feedback in retrospectives and post mortems.
  • Maintaining a professional demeanor with clients and colleagues.
  • Providing training and support to end users and stakeholders.
  • Participate in 2 week agile sprints to deliver iterative project work aligned with team quarterly objectives.

Who you are

  • Experience managing and supporting Windows desktop OS, MacOS, managed endpoint administration at scale across an enterprise sized environment.
  • Strong understanding of the Windows Desktop OS architecture, packaging, scripting and automated deployment tools (SCCM, MDT, PowerShell), Active Directory, GPO, and Bitlocker administration.
  • Strong understanding of the macOS architecture, packaging, scripting and automated deployment tools like Jamf
  • Experienced managing desktop environments using Microsoft and macOS technologies for user and computer management, software updates, application installations and environment monitoring.
  • Experience with Windows Server, Windows Desktop OS, macOS configuration and deployment in a large enterprise environment.
  • Experience working with application deployment and packaging tools for both Windows and Mac
  • Strong working knowledge with scripting languages – PowerShell, VBScript, shell scripting/batch files.
  • Strong diagnostic and root cause analysis skills
  • Ability to write test cases/procedures and training documentation.

Compensation & Benefits

  • The salary band for this position ranges $100,000 - $125,000 commensurate with experience and performance. Compensation may vary based on factors such as cost of living.
