Engineering Leadership

AlphaSights' Engineering Leaders excel at building high performing teams, and unlocking their potential for high quality delivery. They manage both the technical and the people side of their teams; being both a career mentor as well as a technical mentor for their engineers.  They spend a majority of their time ensuring the technical excellence in their area of the business, maximising delivery, and communicating their area’s needs and progress to the rest of the organisation. You'll work closely with a variety of people in the business to arrive at the best solution, immediately see the impact of your work, and get feedback directly from users.

The role

We are looking for an exceptional Engineering Leader to create an AlphaSights presence in the thriving Portuguese tech market, where you would be expected to play the dual role of team builder and Engineering Leader. As the first key hire in Portugal you would have the backing of a profitable multi-national company with established engineering teams, but would be responsible for setting the culture and tone required to make teams a success in Portugal, enhancing the overall technical culture at AlphaSights.

Who you are/What you have

• Skilled, humble, driven, transparent 
• Experienced in building high performing teams from the ground up
• A deep understanding of the Portuguese tech market
• A strong network of engineers you can leverage when building teams
• Expertise in ideally more than one software programming language
• Any languages. Expertise is key.
• An independent learner, with a track record of teaching/mentoring other engineers 
• A great communicator
• A solid understanding of modern software engineering practices

What you’ll do

• Be the face of AlphaSights tech in Portugal 
• Build and lead teams within one of AlphaSights’ innovation areas 
• Build and own large areas of our service ecosystem
• Ensure that the team adheres to high standards and practices sustainable engineering
• Help your teams grow from both a technical and career perspective.
• Follow an agile methodology for rapid, nimble delivery.
