Job Description
The Infatuation is hiring a Manager of Data Engineering who will be responsible for providing data engineering leadership; delivering data solutions; and managing, securing and scaling our data infrastructure. In this role, you will directly contribute to and support business intelligence and analytics projects meant to deliver insights and drive growth. To accomplish this, you will develop and manage a scalable and secure data infrastructure. You will report to the Director of Data & Analytics, manage and support the strategic vision for data at The Infatuation.
Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, deliver, innovate and manage cloud based data technology solutions.
  • Manage a team of off-shore data engineers and scale our data infrastructure to support data & analytics initiatives.
  • Build data pipelines and data warehouse solutions to meet business requirements. Leverage CI-CD and agile processes to deliver solutions.
  • Design and manage ELT/ETL data sets and perform pre-processing services to develop fact and dimension tables.
  • Responsible for performance management, code optimization and maintaining development, staging and production environments.
  • Responsible for sprint planning with data engineering team and prioritizing tasks as per business criticality in agile framework, metadata management and documentation.
  • Partner with business intelligence, digital analytics operations, and engineering and business teams to continuously support our data infrastructure.


Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

  • Bachelor or Master degree in computer science, data engineering or related field.
  • 4+ years work experience developing data engineering solutions including both batch and streaming solutions. Experience managing or mentoring a team of data engineers.
  • Must have implemented E2E data ingestion pipelines using endpoint APIs, third party ETL tools, Google Cloud Storage, DAG-Airflow operators and native GCP services like Dataflow, Dataproc, Data Transfer Services, Cloud Functions etc.
  • Extensive experience with GCP technologies Google BigQuery, Dataproc, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, DataPrep, Composer, GS and terraform. Experience in implementing GCP services with CI/CD pipelines on GitHub with Terraform and DevOps models.
  • Knowledge and experience in the following languages: SQL, Python.
  • Expert in building and maintaining BigQuery Datawarehouse, BigQuery SQLs, Scheduled SQLs, Stored Procedures.
  • Experience evaluating new technologies by implementing POCs and suggesting best fit systems for organization.
  • An entrepreneurial spirit and strategic thinker with experience solving complex problems with scalable solutions.
  • Excellent planning and project management skills and the ability to prioritize effectively and manage stakeholder expectations
  • Excellent communicator able to convey complex information in an understandable, compelling, and persuasive manner at all levels.
