Who you are:

You're an a hands-on analytics leader with experience in data warehouse architecture and development. You understand the challenges of a high-growth technology company from a business, systems, and data standpoint and can effectively translate them into requirements and solutions.

As our Engineering Manager focused on our data warehouse, you'll build our data warehouse to support the analytics needs of the entire company. You'll build a platform that would centralize massive amounts of data for reporting, dashboards, and advanced analytics that fuel key business decisions. As our company grows, you'll also build, mentor and develop your technical team.

You're passionate about driving analytics throughout an organization to create greater efficiencies, improve products, processes and client service by providing insights into the data. You're excited to work with large volumes of complex data that have an impact on business growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, implement and manage Dataminr's data warehouse and BI/analytics tools platform
  • Provide leadership and expertise on mentoring engineers, making hard technical decisions and delivering a platform that provides business value and meets end user goals
  • Partner with teams in engineering, data science, product, operations and more to document requirements and create robust solutions that deal with large volumes of data
  • Ensure data is ingested, curated, standardized, stored and managed properly to support business needs
  • Articulate and present data flow from data acquisition to availability in reports, dashboards and KPIs for the business

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Extensive experience designing and implementing Data Warehouse solutions
  • Experience with big data ETL/Stream Processing Tools such as Flume, Kafka, RabbitMQ, Storm and Spark
  • Experience in data modeling for data warehousing
  • Experience configuring and getting best use out of BI/analytics tools
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills including ability to interface and partner with different levels of the organization
  • Prior management and leadership skills, including ability to grow, mentor and develop a team effectively
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize projects in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
  • Experience in high-growth technology/SaaS/cloud-based environment
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Analytics or related field; Advanced degree preferred
