Job Summary: 

In general, we are looking for a talented and experienced Security Engineering Manager to assess, manage and grow a security team. This is a massive opportunity to apply your cyber security and secops skill set within the blockchain / crypto industry.

As a DevSecOps / Security Manager we are looking for someone with experience and understanding across multiple domains within software security, as well as in-depth knowledge in Cyber Security, Cloud Security and DevSecOps as an expert and innovator.

You will help develop our security roadmap and determine strategy and objectives for the security of our products and underlying infrastructure. You will help set best practices and expectations around security including proactive, reactive / response and management, working with our engineering groups to determine gaps and mitigate risk.

This position will have a mix of hands on, resource management and strategy responsibilities.  


Other Responsibilities and Scope:

  • Create and maintain high quality software documentation and other written assets to document and explain the system design and functionality
  • Identify opportunities to improve existing systems/workflows for performance, speed, and accuracy
  • Hire, Manage, guide and mentor a team devsecops engineers
  • Defining the practice offerings technical approach, providing technical oversight, as well as execution and delivery of planned project deliverables and milestones
  • Providing guidance and mentoring to fellow consultants on technical topics
  • Communicate and coordinate  Cyber Security strategy, programs, and services with a diverse group of business stakeholders
  • Track and coordinate Cyber Security involvement in business-driven technology projects


Skills Required:

  • 3+ years of managerial experience managing a team of 2 or more 
  • A minimum of 6+ years of industry experience in Cyber Security and DevSecOps
  • Working knowledge of Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud platforms. Knowledge of RedHat / OpenStack is a plus
  • Working knowledge of container technology and services to include Docker and Kubernetes
  • Has conducted security risk assessments for organisation
  • Cloud Security Best Practices including OWASP
  • Experience with SAST and SCA tools and processes
  • Strong with SIEM tooling 
  • Blue, Red or Purple  team experience
  • Experience performing / managing penetration testing (run a team or done it themselves)
  • Has taken an organization through ISO 27001 or Soc2 Type 2 compliance and certification
  • Industry experience in dealing with the top Cloud concerns:
    • Identity and Access Management
    • Strategies to ensure adequate Compute, Network and Storage Security controls in cloud environments
    • Secrets and Credentials Management solutions e.g. CyberArk, Hashicorp, Vault etc.
    • Centralized Logging
    • Container Security
    • Incident Response, Disaster Recovery and Cloud Forensics
    • Compliance as Code
    • Strong knowledge of cloud automation frameworks like Terraform, Ansible, Chef etc. is also a plus
  • Experience leading a feedback culture 
  • Ability to work hands on in an agile environment and modern tech stack, as needed
  • Experience designing, scaling and maintaining production services
  • Passionate about building high-quality well-tested code, at scale
  • Curious about Blockchain and willing to learn and keep at the forefront of cryptocurrency continually
  • Loves to tinker with electronics

This role must be based in the New York office.
