As Jackpocket’s Engineering Manager, you will play a key role in the success and continued expansion of our software development function. Managing multiple teams of direct reports, you will provide day to day leadership and work to engage, retain, and develop engineering talent. You will also lead strategic initiatives around the delivery of technical projects and the continued expansion of the team as the business continues to grow rapidly. This is a full time position reporting to the VP of Engineering. 

Responsibilities

• Serve as a central leader for the engineering organization and support timely delivery of technical solutions to address business needs
• Provide day to day management and oversight to multiple teams of direct reports
• Establish and nurture a healthy and collaborative engineering culture
• Play an active role in the implementation and improvement of engineering processes and best practices
• Lead strategy around employer branding and recruitment for the engineering organization
• Provide hands on mentorship, coaching, and career development to and own strategic employee engagement and retention initiatives 
• Provide technical leadership and project management for all aspects of the software development lifecycle
• Collaborate with senior leadership in the development and prioritization of long-term technology road maps
• Develop the skills and careers of the people on your team through mentoring, feedback and hands on career development

Qualifications

• 2+ years of leadership experience in a fast paced software development environment
• Proven track record of successfully leading and expanding highly engaged and productive engineering teams
• Experience managing multiple technical teams and leading successful delivery of high quality technical solutions
• Experience with RESTful and event driven services
• Experience with Ruby and/or Elixir
• DevOps leadership experience
• Working knowledge of employee engagement and recruitment strategies
