Engineering Manager

As an Engineering Manager, you will be driving the direction of our revolutionary suite of products, owning the overall design of those products and managing groups of extremely talented and innovative engineers. You’ll be a functional leader, providing hands-on guidance to shape the future design and solutions for millions of users.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own and manage delivery of technical product
  • Own overall design of the technical product
  • Managing people in engineering team(s)
  • Work with project managers to help execute projects in time and with quality
  • Work with technical product owners to define roadmaps
  • Work with tech leads and guide them in terms of tech design, day to day issues
  • Build tech leadership and groom future leaders
  • Working with other leaders to help shape future design and solutions of Lifion

 Requirements:

  • Experience in leading and managing at least one engineering team
  • Successfully delivered highly technical products and solutions
  • Experience working with stakeholders – product owners & business
  • Master’s Degree and 3 years’ experience or Bachelor’s Degree and 6 years’ experience
  • Fully familiar with agile and has relevant experience in it

 Required Technical Requirements (team specific):

  • 2 + year of experience in node js (preferred) or 3+ years of experience in programming languages like java, c#, ruby, python.
  • Familiar with micro-services architecture concepts and best practices
  • Familiarity with backend systems & patterns
  • Experience in kafka and messaging in general
  • 2+ years of experience in any NoSQL DB
  • 2+ years of experience in any RDBMS
  • Experience in performance tuning and scaling solutions

 Preferred:

  • Experience working with hierarchical data or graph DBs
  • Experience in React JS
  • Experience working in cloud based solutions
  • Experience in container technology like docker
  • Experience working in linux based systems
  • Experience dealing with vendors

There are lots of events constantly going on at Lifion! From meetups to tech talks to our weekly Thursday happy hours, there's a good mix of work and play. We also do outings: in my one year of working here we’ve done laser tag, Barcade, happy hour on a boat, the vessel, a picnic in central park, escape the room, VR world, and more.

The People Ops Team is in full swing for FY19 Performance Reviews. It's an exciting time for the business, but requires a lot of backend work & support for our associates. We're drafting communications and timelines for management & associates, and creating the right process to gather ratings and self-assessments for a great associate experience.
