nTopology is looking for an experienced, hands-on Engineering Manager to lead and inspire a team of software engineers on the Platform Experience team. The team is making our innovative visual programming environment for solving engineering problems even more powerful and easier to learn.

Can be based in New York, NY, or Remote in the U.S.

What You'll Do

• Make nTopology's next-generation engineering software more powerful and easier to learn
• Work with product management, senior leadership, your peers, and your team to plan and deliver software releases
• Use your technical background to help your team evaluate trade-offs during design and development
• Coach engineers of all skill levels to improve their technical and soft skills
• Guide your team's career development with regular 1-1s and routine feedback
• Recruit, interview, evaluate, and close new hires to elevate and diversify our talented engineering team
• Maintain high software quality standards by establishing good practices and habits
• Build, shape, and continually improve processes and systems on your team and across engineering
• Design, develop, and unit test applications in accordance with established standards
• Spend 60% of your time managing, 40% coding and reviewing code

Who You Are

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or 3 years of equivalent work experience
• 5+ years of professional experience developing large, complex software products
• 3+ experience developing in C++
• 2+ years as an Engineering Manager, Team Lead, or Lead Engineer
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English

It's a Plus If You Also Have

• C++14/17 experience (smart pointers, RAII, etc)
• Experience building programming language, IDE, or developer tooling products
• Experience building desktop software for enterprise customers
• Strong interest in programming languages
