Title: Founding Engineer

Job Type: Full time

Compensation: Combination of Equity/Cash, mix depends on experience. Estimate 90-120,000/yr

Start date: October- November 2019

Location: New York, New York, preferred. LA or San Francisco Area 2^nd preference, however we want the best person for the role so open to location “anywhere”!

Voice in Sport™ and VIS^TM is a new sports company based in New York with a mission to redefine the role of sport, with a strong emphasis on females role with in the world of sport. We aim to bring an exciting new company to the arena! The Founder of this new start up is a female sports industry executive of 15 years.

Responsibilities:

This role is a unique opportunity to work directly with the Founder and a leading sports industry creative director to launch a new company. The role will have significant exposure to the top athletes and will benefit greatly from working with a talented and experienced leadership team in a new innovative inclusive culture.

Reports to the Founder/CEO – whom has 15+ years of experience making the best performance products in sport and building multi billion dollar businesses.

The role encompasses but is not limited to the following:

• We are looking for an ambitious first engineer to develop our technology roadmap, lead the development of our stack and build a talented team beneath them over time.
• As the first technical team member, you will have the opportunity to work on all aspects of our platform: building mobile-first, intuitive interfaces that drive strong user engagement.
• Innovate on Consumer sensing and engagement during the product creation cycle.
• Developing our community platform – both website and mobile app.
• Creating and owning our data architecture and APIs, providing scalability as we add new data inputs to strengthen our platform’s network effect
.
• Helping craft our company strategy, ensuring the tech roadmap delivers upon all strategic goals.
• Interfacing with consumers, partners and vendors to ensure we deliver a product that drives value and meets their needs.
• Work cross-functionally to interpret customer needs and create powerful features and interfaces that delight customers and drive clear client ROI 
.
• Build the first prototype to test and learn and then create and build the final launch product.
• Leading the recruitment, hiring and management of a best-in-class engineering team


Qualifications:

• Motivated by ownership and responsibility
• Excited to build an enduring company 

• Posses great communication skills, keen to work directly with consumers / athletes and internal cross-teams 

• Proactive, optimistic and detail oriented – team player!
• Bachelor degree in Engineering, Computer Science, etc.
• Have 6+ years professional engineering experience, including 4+ years full-stack 

• Experienced scoping and building web projects delivering measurable impact to end users
• Have experience developing in open-source frameworks.
• Knowledge of e-commerce platforms (e.g. Shopify, Magento) a plus; mobile development a plus, but really a growth mindset is all you need!
• Knowledge and experience working with ERP systems (e.g. Netsuite)
