As a fast-growing, venture backed firm, Properly is looking for an outstanding Front End Engineer who can take our product to the next level. As one of the first members of Properly's engineering team, you’ll have the unique opportunity to impact to work on interesting, complicated projects while making decisions on architecture, testing, and even our stack.

At Properly, we’re building a fully-automated real estate sales brokerage dedicated to making the process of selling home faster, easier, and less costly. We’re data-driven and believe that rapid iteration leads to better results. 
 
The Job:

We’re looking for an experienced engineer who is eager to go beyond just pushing code. You will be a self-starter who demonstrates the ability to architect, build, and deploy large-scale applications. You love finding elegant solutions to complicated problems, and you think about the product as a whole, and not just your specific code. 

Our platform is built primarily in Ruby on Rails and Javascript, but based on your input that stack will change and grow over time. 

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop new client-facing functionality for our web application to make the home selling process as simple as possible
  • Develop manageable code that can be scaled as the engineering team grows 
  • Quickly identify and implement key areas for performance improvement
  • Enhance our testing, monitoring, and continuous deployment infrastructure

 
Key Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years experience developing high-quality, consumer facing web applications
  • Experience with HTML, SASS, React, Bootstrap, and other front-end frameworks
  • Experience with A/B frameworks and user experience analytics to better understand and optimize the user experience
  • Experience with front end testing frameworks
  • The ability to identify and implement the best technology for a task
  • Advanced understanding of MVC architecture
  • Ability to work with various internal and external RESTful APIs to present data in a fast and robust manner
