THE STORY

Like most guys, we just want getting dressed to be easy. But somewhere along the way things got complicated. Nothing seemed to fit quite right, quality was lacking and shopping was a painful exercise of trial and error. There were somehow way too many options, or none. And whenever we did find something we liked, we knew it would be a little different the next time we looked. So we decided to fix that.

We started with underwear and socks, things that could make you more comfortable every single day. Since then, we’ve gone on to reinvent other essentials that didn’t meet our standards for comfort, performance, quality, or design. If you only need one version of it, we only make the best possible version—and once we get it right, we don’t change a thing.

THE ROLE

Mack Weldon is reinventing men’s basics with a focus on smart design, innovative fabrics, and simple shopping. As a Front-end Engineer at Mack Weldon you will join the engineering team and help us ship outstanding e-commerce and other digital experiences. You will be responsible for maintaining our visual identity through modern, scalable, and robust front-end architecture. This is a highly cross-functional role as you’ll work between engineering, design, product, and UX to deliver the exceptional experiences that our customers expect.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

• Build - Roll out new apps and experiences across multiple digital platforms.
• Optimize - Find the inefficiencies, address them, and continuously improve our customer experience.
• Measure - Make things faster and better by measuring our site performance and keeping an eye on our core usability metrics.
• Learn - Observe customer behavior and understand how and why they interact with our brand..

WHAT WILL SET YOU UP FOR SUCCESS:

• Experience working with ES6 or Typescript.
• Experience working with common view component frameworks; React, Vue.
• Experience working with common CSS preprocessors; SASS, LESS.
• Experience working with front-end build systems; Grunt, Webpack, Gulp.
• An understanding the common pitfalls in single page applications.
• Familiarity with CI/CD best practices.
• Familiarity with common e-commerce platforms; Shopify, Woo, SFCC.
• Working knowledge of an interpreted language and framework like Ruby/Rails.

WHO YOU ARE:

• You have 4+ years of experience working with high performing software teams.
• Someone who has excellent verbal and written communication skills (tech and non-tech) technical.
• Someone who has an insatiable urge to keep things organized and a keen eye for good design.
• A team player who can understand requirements from across various functions and work together toward shared goals.
• Customer centric. You care deeply about the customer experience and are vigilant to ensure any pain points are addressed.
• Creative and driven. You keep up to date with technologies and understand when, and how, to apply them.
