Job Summary

Graphika seeks an experienced software developer to join the team as a Frontend Engineer. The Frontend Engineer will be a crucial addition to the small but growing Technology team. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of JavaScript, HTML, and CSS which they can use to improve Graphika’s web application.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Write React code for front-end development
• Improve Graphika dashboards and visualizations to keep our data accessible to users

Qualifications and Skills

You will partner closely with Analysis, Product and the rest of the Technology team to provide innovative, pragmatic solutions to technical problems. You think of yourself as collaborative, communicative problem-solver who is able to autonomously drive toward individual and collective goals. In addition, you are able to work independently and take ownership without being territorial and speak up when something needs attention. You think of yourself as a collaborative problem solver who can work with your teammates on the tech team to deliver on tactical goals without leaving a wake of technical debt.

Required:

• You are comfortable with modern JavaScript and React
• You have experience building and working with web APIs
• Experience building and debugging complex systems in a team environment
• Strong communication skills and empathy for your teammates

Nice to have:

• You have experience working with social media data
• You have experience working in a data-focused organization
• You have experience with Ruby or Python
• You are familiar with PostgreSQL
• You have experience with D3 and other front end visualization libraries
• You have knowledge of JavaScript type checkers such as Flow or Typescript

Education & Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• At least 3 years development experience
