Frontend Engineer - Data Visualization
We've tried to create the simplest, most straightforward way to discover events and buy tickets. We humbly believe that SeatGeek has the best UI in ticketing, but there's always so much room to improve.
We're looking for an engineer who's focused on building informative yet beautiful user interfaces. You are an engineer who cares as much about the elegance of web UIs as you do about the code and architecture that powers them.
As a frontend engineer in data visualization, you'll work at the intersection of SeatGeek's data and user experience teams. You'll design and build tools that some of the biggest names in sports and entertainment use to understand their business. You'll develop fully interactive, dynamic web interfaces that allow the teams and venues we ticket to make informed decisions.
What you'll do
- Build beautiful and informative web interfaces in TypeScript and React
- Create reusable interface components
- Understand what our clients want to know and how our data can answer their questions
- Work with our best-in-class venue mapping team to layer sales, attendance, and our machine learning derived demand signals data onto interactive visualizations
Who you are
- Solid proficiency and 2+ years professional experience in JavaScript (TypeScript preferred but not required) and at least one modern framework (React preferred but not required)
- Experience with one or more Javascript visualization packages such as D3, ReactViz, Victory, or similar
- Interest in data and how business leaders use it to make decisions
- Ability to design your own interfaces and work independently of product designers to determine for yourself what should be built in addition to how to build it
- Bonus if:
- Experience with geospatial data and tools (PostGIS, MapboxGL, etc.)
- Full stack experience especially in Python or C# (or an interest to learn)
Perks
- Equity stake
- Flexible work environment, allowing you to work as many days a week in the office as you'd like or 100% remotely
- A WFH stipend to support your home office setup
- Flexible PTO
- Up to 16 weeks of paid family leave
- 401(k) matching program
- Health, vision, dental, and life insurance
- Annual subscriptions to Headspace, Ginger.io, and One Medical
- $120 a month to spend on tickets to live events
- Annual subscription to Spotify, Apple Music, or Amazon music
