We're looking for a Full-stack Engineer to join our Data Platform team that owns the design of our data systems and the tools that support it. Our newest colleague will join a tight-knit group of folks who crave ownership and change rather than rigid structure and micromanagement.

The salary range for this position is $110,000 - $130,000

We're looking for an experienced developer to join our ~20-person engineering team and take ownership of the central data pipelines & internal apps that allow our products to connect to each other and serve our wide array of customers. We offer different tools tailored to retailers, distributors, brands and importers that are all powered by the core SevenFifty data platform -- a set of internal apps that enable data processing, normalization, and triaging & resolution of issues. Our primary tech stack is Ruby-on-Rails apps, with a combination of classic server-rendered views and React components. Our web apps are hosted on Heroku and background workers run in EC2. We use Postgres on Amazon RDS, Solr and Algolia for search,and RabbitMQ for queuing.

We transitioned to being geo-distributed in 2019, and communicate primarily using Slack, Zoom, and GitHub. Prior to COVID we convened in person about twice a year, and look forward to being able to reinstate our Team Week tradition.

What you’ll do:

• Full-stack web and data processing development (we expect a 70/30 backend-to-frontend split)
• Improve our internal data quality application to support new data types and workflows
• Build automations and monitoring tools for our technical support teams
• Act as a partner and consultant for user-facing product squads incorporating new data pipelines

What you'll have:

• 3+ years working on teams developing web apps or data transformations, and running them in production for thousands of users
• An affinity for data modeling and architecture
• Basic familiarity with frontend web development using frameworks like Ruby on Rails and React
• A collaborative and iterative approach to development
• A track record of improving and maintaining complex systems
• Clear and concise written communication ability
