About our Engineering Team:

Web Engineering at Foursquare is comprised of a global team responsible for all of our internal and externally facing web properties. Our engineers play a key role in product development, from concept to launch while also building out our bleeding edge core infrastructure. Engineers regularly work with all areas within Foursquare as we continue to scale up our SaaS web products. We push updates to our websites almost every day so it won't take long to get your work out in front of our millions of users.

You should be comfortable leading initiatives, mentoring peers while maintaining a passion to learn new skills on a bleeding edge platform. We use a variety of tools, technologies, and languages to build software including ES6 JavaScript, React, Redux, Webpack, MongoDB and Scala.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in building software for fast growing web or mobile products
• 5+ years of extensive JavaScript development, building highly interactive web apps using frameworks such as React/Redux (preferred), Angular, or Vue.js
• Solid foundation in computer science fundamentals with sound knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and system design
• Experience with Java or other object-oriented programming language or, even better, experience and/or interest in functional languages like Scala
• Comfortable in a small and fast-paced startup environment
