DESCRIPTION
EPAM Cyber R&D Lab are expanding our established team. We are looking for a talented Security Engineer with experience in hardware development, exploit development and reverse engineering. The Hardware Security Engineer will be responsible for carrying out assessments as part of customer engagements and must have the willingness to carry out independent research.
We are looking for an individual with good communication skills and a strong passion for electronics and hardware design. You should be motivated to keep up with current technologies and maintain an awareness of industry trends and threats. Internal training will be provided to develop qualities required for conducting independent research.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Embedded security research: SCADA/ICS, IoT, ATM, Point of Sales, network devices, biometrics
- Proprietary protocol reverse-engineering and Wireshark dissector development on LUA
- Undocumented functionality and vulnerability research
- PoC development
- Test environment setup and configuration
- Report generation
- Independent research
- Presenting research at conferences
WHAT YOU HAVE
- A degree in an associated field and/or other advanced certification along with significant experience
- 4+ years of security experience including hardware development and/or exploit development or reverse engineering
- Strong C/C++/Assembler programming/RE skills
- Proficiency in using common electronics and embedded analysis/debug tools such as Oscilloscopes and Logic Analysers
- Experience working with GPIO, UART, SPI, I2C, and CAN protocols
- Experience in reverse engineering PCBs and components
- Knowledge of industry's security attack and defence dynamics
- Ability to track the latest security vulnerabilities
- Good communication skills
NICE TO HAVE
- Practical cryptanalysis, evaluation of weaknesses in crypto-primitives implementation
- Experience in low-level application development (ARM, MIPS architectures)
