We have enormous and engaging technical challenges. We need to verify online identity, predict fraud, and approve and price credit while providing a beautiful and frictionless consumer experience all in real time. 

We are looking to hire a Head of Devops to join the current infrastructure team in continuing to build out our core infrastructure and platform to enable product engineering initiatives. This head of devops will:

• be responsible for leading design and implementation of new features and iterations of our infrastructure
• Build a team of talented infrastructure and devops engineers alongside our existing infrastructure
• Work with all areas of the business to understand problems and deliver solutions to accomplish company goals
• Enable Bread’s technology to scale to billions of dollars of volume
• write tools and introduce approaches that we didn't know we needed but that after a month we won't know how we lived without them

Requirements

• Expertise building scalable, reliable distributed systems
• Knowledge of server-side languages and data stores
• Expertise with AWS or GCP
• Managed, led, or built a team of talented infrastructure and devops professionals
• A passion for engineering and technology

Preferred

• Experience with message-based, loosely coupled architectures (we use RabbitMQ and Redis)
• Experience developing systems intended for cloud deployments (we use AWS)
• Knowledge of financial products
• Experience with Go/PostgreSQL/Rabbit/Redis
• Knowledge of ETL and other data pipelines like DMS and Redshift
• Knowledge and hands-on experience with Kubernetes (EKS, GKE, kops, etc)
• Experience creating secure infrastructures
