Outbrain is the largest content discovery platform, working with top-tier publishers such as CNN, Time Inc. and the Guardian to engage their users with personalized stories, and generate revenue through promoted content.
Scout is a strategic new initiative within Outbrain, with the vision of connecting people through digital content. In essence, we want to give users a place where they can discover new and inspiring content, follow the reads of other great minds, keep stories they love and share them with others who care. The Scout team sits directly under our founder and CEO, and while enjoying the security and benefits of a large company, operates as a start-up with absolute autonomy and independence.
We’ve assembled a remarkable team of experts, and are now looking for our first iOS engineer to join the team.
What you'll do:
- Own and be responsible for building our iOS app from the ground up.
- Contribute to the vision and direction of the product (e.g. working with the product team on new ideas, working with R&D team on integrating new tech).
- Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code.
- Facilitate collaboration between engineers, product managers, and designers.
You have:
Bachelors in Computer Science or related fields, or equivalent experience.
3+ years experience of consumer-focused iOS development, deep understanding of Swift + UIKit
Previously published apps in the App Store and experienced with the release process to the App Store.
Experience in using private or public API to integrate with mobile applications
Excellent knowledge with iOS design patterns (MVC, MVP, MVVM)
Experience creating animations with CoreAnimation
Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
Self motivated and eager to build the best user experience possible
