OkCupid is looking for an eager Jr. Linux Systems Administrator to help support staff and critical infrastructure
We’re a small, tight-knit team, and you’ll work closely with the front-end, back-end, and mobile developers. This is a unique opportunity to be deeply involved in the growth and evolution of an amazing and dynamic product, built on cool technology, by exceptionally talented people.
Daily activities may include the following:
- Provisioning and deployment of new systems in a rapidly growing environment
- General systems maintenance tasks such as proactive review of logs and alerts, managing resource usage, troubleshooting routine automated maintenance and backup processes, applying patches, etc.
- Working closely with developers to tune the application stack and implement new technologies
- Help to refine internal processes and documentation
- Diagnose and resolve internal system issues
- Respond to production issues immediately to ensure continued service
- Execution of system-related operations, including off-hour maintenance as required

To land this gig, you will need:
- Experience with Linux systems administration
- Familiarity with at least one scripting language
- Basic understanding of networking concepts
- Experience with version control software (e.g., git, svn)
