Who you are:

• Enjoys solving difficult problems and translating those solutions into high performance code
• Possesses a solid mix of initiative, imagination, and work ethic
• Understands what it takes to work at a start-up, including the need to ‘wear multiple hats’
• Considers system architecture and how changes will affect testability, maintainability, and scalability of the system
• Constantly works to identify and mitigate security concerns, refactor old code judiciously, and follow development best practices
• Understands the importance of automated testing and continuous integration in delivering bug-free, fully test-covered code in short time frames

What you have done:

• 6+ years of backend experience building and maintaining high throughput, distributed, multi-threaded web services
• A strong command of fundamental data structures and algorithms
• The ability to work proficiently in the following areas with the respective tools:
• Languages: Java 8, React, Python, Go
• Infrastructure: Linux, AWS, Docker, Kafka
• Databases: MySQL, PostgreSQL
• Frameworks/Tools: Spring, D3JS, JUnit, Jenkins, Maven
• Integration: REST, SFTP, & Queuing/Messaging Services
• Experience mentoring and leading junior engineers
• Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science or a related field
