The Opportunity:

GIPHY.com receives 200M unique visitors per month, our mobile products have millions of users and our API is integrated into some of the biggest digital platforms in the world. We operate at scale.
We’re looking for a Lead DevOps Engineer to help operate and improve our systems so we can provide the best, most relevant content in real time. You will be part of a team supporting and scaling the production infrastructure for the delivery of these applications.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and manage software delivery systems as well as developer support tools utilizing components of the AWS stack as well as open source tools
  • Plan and implement strategies for improving the infrastructure
  • Support, troubleshoot, monitor, and optimize production systems
  • Conduct load testing and performance tuning of existing systems
  • Manage budget

Qualifications:

  • 5-7+ years of experience in devops
  • Familiarity with containerized microservice deployments - especially Kubernetes
  • Expert-level knowledge of the Amazon Web Services (AWS) ecosystem
  • Programming ability with one programming language
  • Strong background in Linux/Unix administration
  • Experience with configuration management; Puppet, Chef or an equivalent
  • Experience supporting 24x7, high availability internet application environments that include web, application and database servers and load balancing systems
