Job Description
The Tech Incubation team is hiring a Lead Front End Engineer!
WHO ARE WE?
The Tech Incubation team aspires to push the existing boundaries in cancer care at the confluence of tech and health. We function as an engine for innovation that supports bold, scientific experimentation with new technologies in a variety of breakthrough domains that helps shape MSK’s digital transformation. The team is a multidisciplinary group of designers, product managers, engineers and data scientists whose activities range from basic tech research, to proof of concept and design work, to streamlined pilots and evaluations of new technologies in production clinical and business environments. We also reach beyond institutional walls to forge collaborations with academic, startup, and established industry partners to accelerate and augment these activities.
WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON?
As Lead Front End Engineer, you will report to the Engineering Manager, and will be responsible for the full development life cycle of complex products with deep integrations with other systems. You will serve as a technical leader, evangelist, and mentor to the other Front-End Engineers and the rest of the engineering team.
Currently our team is working on proof of concepts for voice technologies to help both the clinicians and patients. Things shift quick, but we're eager to seek out and trial other areas of cutting-edge tech!
Responsibilities
- Develop client facing features by translating graphical design and wireframes to code
- Optimize code for performance and scalability
- Create, review and approve technical designs of software solutions
- Research into new technologies, frameworks and development practices
- Work closely with designers and product managers to scope and deliver projects
Our ideal candidate
- 7+ years of experience in building commercial web applications in a fast-paced environment
- Deep expertise in one or more web frameworks – React, Angular, Vue
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript & TypeScript
- Proficient in AJAX or one or more build systems
- Great communicator, comfortable with switching speeds, and excited to mentor across diverse teams with varied technical backgrounds
