More about the role
We are looking for an ambitious Front-End Engineering Lead. As an early employee, you’ll have the chance to define and work on the foundational elements of the company and work closely with the founding team. The ideal candidate is passionate about creating a seamless customer experience and is able to drive and execute end-to-end web and mobile based customer journeys. You will plan, architect, build and own our main external-facing web app using React.js, JavaScript, CSS, Relay and GraphQL and our native app using React Native. You will partner with the CTO, Head of product and Head of Design to bring our customer touch-points to life and will be responsible for the technical execution of web projects through hands-on development and prototyping. In other words, you will bridge the gap between graphical design and technical implementation to create a user-friendly environment. This position reports directly to the CTO.
Responsibilities:
- Develop new user-facing features.
- Build reusable code and libraries for future use.
- Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs.
- Create quality mockups and prototypes on tight timelines.
Qualifications:
- B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent.
- 8+ years of experience working as a Software Engineer.
- 3+ years experience working with React.js.
- Vast experience with CSS and modern JavaScript libraries and tooling.
- Deep understanding of the "behind-the-scenes" of HTML rendering, CSS and JavaScript.
- Deep understanding of core modern web concepts such a Single Page App and Server Side vs. Client Side Rendering.
- Familiarity with server-side technologies such as Node.js or Java.
- Demonstrated design and UX sensibilities.
Bonus points for:
- Experience in Conversion Optimization and A/B testing, Web and Mobile Performance Optimization, CSS/SVG animations.
- Experience in the healthcare space and startup environment.
