Role and Responsibilities

As one of the senior hires at Particle Health, you will have autonomy & flexibility as we develop not just a new product, but also culture and thought leadership around our mission. You will be asked to:

  • Ensure design/development/deployment best practices are followed.
  • Actively participate in requirements, architecture, and design meetings. Breaking down product requirements into actionable tasks.
  • Produce high quality, well documented code.
  • Prioritize Information Security into product builds.
  • Create and maintain great software architecture that enables our products to be fast, nimble and reliable.
  • Shape engineering culture with best practices and quality industry tools.
  • Build out measurement and monitoring systems.
  • Write documentation for both internal and external consumers, covering design artifacts, code, and fixes.
  • Ensure our product is properly covered with unit tests by creating and maintaining the tests and testing framework.
  • Share knowledge and mentor/review work of other developers.

Qualifications

  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis now and in the future.
  • BA or BS Required.
  • 5+ Years experience building out secure, scalable systems
  • Passion to solve health data interoperability
  • Experience with backend languages (OO language like Java/C++/Go/Rust)
  • Experience with systems design
  • Experience with monitoring cloud (GCP, AWS, Azure) deployments
  • Experience with the Healthcare industry, EMR/HIE systems a plus
  • Relational database experience (MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.)
  • Familiarity with version control, such as git
  • Located or willing to work in New York City
  • Ability to work under conditions of ambiguity in a fast-growth, sometimes uncertain and complex environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills

Location

Particle has an office on 20th, close to Union Square, Gramercy, and everything in between. There's a solid group who come in regularly, but we are primarily a remote-first company.
