Location: New York, NY OR Remote US-Based

We are looking for a dedicated, detail oriented, energetic and seasoned Engineering Manager to join our team at Conductor. We are building out our engineering team to meet the needs of our fast growing company.   

What You'll Do

• Directly manage a team of engineers building software to ingest, process, and store disparate datasets from various sources
• Participate in design reviews and code reviews, and influence decisions about cross-functional architecture and systems
• Be accountable for the technical quality of the software created by your team, and the degree to which it appropriately addresses non-functional requirements such as scalability, extensibility, and maintainability
• Participate in the management of your team’s roadmap and backlog, and be accountable for the timely delivery of the code, services, and systems created by your team
• Hold regular 1-on-1s with your team, addressing their concerns and helping them grow
• Address technical- or process-related challenges and improvement opportunities for your team
• Participate in development of Proof of Concepts and prototypes as needed
• Act as a hiring manager to grow the size and impact of your team(s)
• Demonstrate empathy, courtesy, and fairness in everything you do

Who You Are

• You have 2+ years of experience leading a team as a manager, including providing feedback, coaching, mentorship and facilitation of career growth to 4+ direct reports
• You have 2+ years of experience architecting and implementing ETL pipelines and distributed systems involving massive-scale data
• You have 4+ years of experience engineering software that leverages cloud computing platforms (preferably AWS) and container orchestration (preferably Kubernetes)
• You have 8+ years of software engineering experience, preferably within a fast-growing SaaS business
• You have the ability to work collaboratively with others to brainstorm, set goals, and devise solutions
• You appreciate the importance of engineering rigor and non-functional requirements
• You appreciate the critical importance of a respectful and empathetic team culture
