Job Summary:Disney Streaming (DS) is looking for a talented and motivated Manager to join the Web
Core Services Developer Experience team. We are a distributed team focused on
increasing developer productivity by streamlining tooling and libraries for the DSS suite
of web applications, including Disney+, Star+, Hulu, and ESPN+. We are looking for an
engineering manager who understands enterprise scale and has a commitment to
developer experience. As part of this team you will be responsible for delivering what
aims to be the largest media streaming platform in the world
Responsibilities:Build a diverse & prolific software development team through a combination of training,
career development, recruiting, and process improvement.
- Lead by example to design technical solutions and ensure that all software conforms to
the highest quality standards.
- Collaborate with product managers and other business partners to prioritize work and
set goals for the team.
- Refine engineering practices and enact positive change within the team.
- Champion your team's work across the organization.
- Be responsible for the operations of the team's services to ensure stability and uptime.

- Javascript, Typescript, CSS, Bash
- NodeJS, React, NextJS
- Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress
- Styled components
- Docker
- Github, git
- Datadog, New Relic
- Jenkins
Basic Qualifications
- Care deeply about coaching, mentoring, and growing the careers of your team
members.
- 5 to 7 years of technical experience, including 2+ years in an engineering leadership
role.
- Familiarity with most of the technologies listed above.
- Familiarity with application development concepts like performance optimization, state
management, single-page architecture, cache, build optimization, multi-tenancy, etc.
- Self-learner, independent, and have excellent problem-solving skills.
- Ability to write documentation and communicate technical topics with clarity.
- Ability to communicate across multiple teams.
Preferred Qualifications:Preferred Qualifications
- Experience building geographically distributed, highly available web applications.
- Experience implementing design systems.
- Experience working on projects that span multiple teams.
- Knowledge/experience with AWS products and services.
- Knowledge/experience with CI systems such as Jenkins, GitLab, or Github Actions.
- Knowledge/Experience with software containers (e.g. Docker) and artifact repositories
(e.g. Artifactory)
