That's why Eight Sleep is looking for a talented Mechanical Engineer to help define and design the next generation of sleep enhancing products. Specifically, this person will help redefine the Pod product launching next year, and companion accessory products that will continue to elevate our brand in the sleep space.

How you’ll contribute

• Architect and complete detailed design of plastic, metal and soft goods components and electromechanical systems of consumer electronics products
• Rapidly iterate, prototype, and refine designs through release for mass production
• Develop specs and testing methods to validate designs
• Drive DFMEA discussions to surface and mitigate design risk factors
• Collaborate with manufacturing team on DFM and QC testing procedures
• Add to Eight’s collective knowledge on design and manufacturing practices

What you need to succeed

• Strong mechanical design skills, applied to consumer electro-mechanical products
• Experienced multiple product launch cycles of consumer products working with cross-functional teams
• Familiarity with the consumer electronics production environment, and possess ability to bridge the gap between design and manufacturing
• High proficiency in CAD (Solidworks preferred) and Adobe Illustrator as design tools
• Has experience mocking up electromechanical features or test devices using Arduino or similar prototyping methods
• You are a self-starter who is comfortable delivering excellent work with limited guidance
• You embrace teamwork, and are willing to stretch outside of your own comfort zone and responsibilities to do whatever is necessary to help the team succeed
• Experience with soft goods is preferred
