Description:

Latch is seeking an experienced Mobile Software Engineer to lead our growing team of mobile developers. You will have responsibility over our existing iOS and Android applications and play a leading role in feature design, debugging, and product maintenance. You will have the opportunity to mentor and grow the Latch mobile team and contribute to culture choices that have significant impact to the organization.

Responsibilities and skills:

• Expertise in Swift and/or Java
• Strong preference for Test Driven Development
• Ability to evaluate solutions both in terms of algorithm and data structure fundamentals as well as object oriented design principles
• Beneficial to have skills in developing software for devices that use Bluetooth Low Energy in both a Central and Peripheral role
• Ability to improve performance via Instruments and other profiling tools
• Experience designing application level protocols
• Familiarity with agile work flow
• Ability to professionally communicate
• Craft beautiful mobile user experiences for Latch’s users
• Ensure the Latch mobile experience remains consistent across platforms while also taking advantage of platform-specific features

Requirements:

• BS (Required)/MS/PHD in Computer Science or related field
• At least 7 years of professional software development experience
• At least 5 years of hands-on technical management experience (leading both engineers and managers)
• Actively coached and mentored engineers and managers in their careers
• Strong understanding of software design, architecture, data-structures, multi-threading, testing, security, and performance
• Experience in developing apps for the Apple App Store and Google Play Store
• Bonus: Experience partnering with recruiting to build exceptional engineering teams
